Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Monday honoured Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, who was chosen Personality of the Year for Family Cohesion and Social Security by the Arab Family Organisation (AFO).
During the ceremony held for the first edition of the AFO’s awards, Dr Shaikh Sultan praised the efforts by Lt Gen Shaikh Saif in the social and humanitarian field, as well as his constant efforts to support the social structure in a way that strengthens social cohesion.
Speaking on the occasion, Shaikh Saif said that this success is attributed to President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
“God has blessed us with wise leaders that have placed the Emirati family at the top of its priorities, due to the belief in the important role played by Emirati families in the stability of the nation and community development,” Shaikh Saif said.
“The late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan always advised us to give priority to the Emirati family, which he described as a protective shield for a close-knit community, and we are working on further bolstering family integration through every means possible,” said Shaikh Saif.
