Sharjah: New workshops await visitors to the 4th Biennial chapter from December 9 to 31 at the Sharjah museum for Arts and from January 9 to February 9, 2015 at the Child Centre in Mugaideer, say organisers.

The biennial will be held under the patronage of Shaikha Jawaher Bint Mohammad Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness Dr. Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.

In light of the ongoing preparations, new artworks that have been selected to participate in the fourth Biennial for Children edition are being installed. The 550 works of art are from 11 Arab and foreign countries where many children participated in accomplishing these art works and whom ages range from 6-18 years old.

The outcome of those art works have varied between the outcome of technical workshops held on the sidelines of the Biennial and the various participations from UAE emirates in addition to the works received from all around the world.

Reem Bin Karam, Acting Director of the Department of Children’s Centres, Head of the Sharjah Biennial for Children that there are only a few days left to the opening of a new session of the Sharjah Biennial for Children for children which is the largest in terms of internal participation and the work done in addition to the Gulf, regional and global dimension of the activity.

She added that there are a few final touches to the works to display them in a professional manner which will add aesthetic prominence to the works created fingertips created by the children.

Nasser Nasrallah, Emirati artist who is the general supervisor of the Sharjah Biennial for Children, said that “since the start of the fourth session of the Sharjah Biennial for Children we develop and implement all the ideas that are towards the development of children’s skills in terms od precise standards that will lead to bright artistic futures.
