Dubai: The UAE government has launched the first store for Smart Government Applications on the global level through the Android and IOS platforms.

The store offers more than 100 smart applications developed by UAE federal and local departments linking to 700 customer services from one location.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, viewed the most important features of the new store and those that it will offer in the future, as well as the coming steps towards the transformation into a Smart Government in mid-2015, according to the strategic plan that was announced during the last government summit. 


Smart services

During the launch of the new store, Shaikh Mohammad stressed that the goal is for Smart services to be a part of everyday life for the entire population. He also added that these services have to be easily and directly accessible: The smarter these services become, the happier the community will be.

He also called for more services to be added to the store and to encourage more people to access these services.

Shaikh Mohammad also pointed out the importance of coordination between different federal and local departments to achieve the goals of the complete transformation into Smart Government services in the future.

Shaikh Mohammad viewed the new store in the presence of Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Smart Government Committee, Reem Al Hashemi, Minister of State, and other senior officials.

The launch of the new store is based on the partnership and coordination with Google and Apple to ensure delivering government services through the new store that are reliable, secure, and maintaining the data of government transactions of individuals and businesses.

The aim is to also enhance the reliability of all applications in the store and to be able to meet future expansion of services.
