Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Thursday received at Al Mushrif Palace Almazbek Atambayev, President of Kyrgyzstan, who is currently on an official visit to the UAE.

Upon his arrival, Atambayev, accompanied by Shaikh Mohammad, was accorded an official reception ceremony where the national anthems of the two countries were played. Later Atambayev inspected the guard of honour in the yard of the Palace, and 21 cannon shots were fired in salute of the guest.

Shaikh Mohammad and Atambayev then held discussions that touched on bilateral relations and ways to develop them for the mutual benefit of both countries and peoples. They spoke about ways to develop relations in the field of economy, trade, investments and development, particularly in the trade and infrastructure sectors. They stressed the importance of enhancing the availability of opportunities for joint projects that drive the relations towards more development and progress for the mutual interests of both countries.

Respect

Shaikh Mohammad said that the nature of the UAE’s relations with friendly countries, which are based on cooperation, understanding and commitment to humanitarian responsibility, has made other countries respect and appreciate the UAE, and helped the country achieve its global position among nations and people.

Shaikh Mohammad emphasised that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is looking forward to developing its relations with Kyrgyzstan towards more growth and prosperity, and achieving the aspirations of both countries’ peoples.

Atambayev expressed his happiness at visiting the UAE and acquainting himself with its expertise and projects in the field of development, economy and tourism, and the level of growth these fields have achieved in 43 years.

Present during the meeting were Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth, and Community Development, and other senior officials.
