Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, highlighted the importance of British Prime Minister David Cameron’s visit to the UAE in pushing bilateral relations to wider horizons.

“The visit reflects the deep awareness of the potential and vast opportunities available to enhance bilateral relations at all levels,” Shaikh Abdullah said in a statement at the end of Cameron’s two-day visit to the UAE.

He said that the deep-rooted relations between the UAE and UK are set to become an alliance in the future to serve the mutual interest of both nations.

“There is huge potential to enhance the existing cooperation which constitutes a foundation for a series of massive industrial partnerships and joint ventures,”

He underlined the strong commitment of both countries to push bilateral cooperation ahead.

“Trade between both countries touched £9.6 billion last year, thus making the UAE the largest export market for the UK in the Middle East and North Africa,”

Shaikh Abdullah referred to Cameron’s visit to Zayed University as an indicator of the British Prime Minister’s interest in Emirati women’s passion in making the most of available education opportunities, which reflects the country’s ambitious policies in women empowerment in all walks of life.
