Abu Dhabi: The telethon organised by the UAE Red Crescent Authority has collected Dh72 million in donations for flood-hit in Pakistan over three days.
The campaign has also been extended for another three days.
The 'Ounokom' ('Your Support') campaign was launched on Wednesday by the Red Crescent Authority in line with the orders of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and in cooperation with TV channels, and Radio stations working in the UAE.to assist the Pakistani people, and the sum of donations collected by 11pm on Friday totalled to be Dh 54 million.
The donations in UAE - for the 23 million people in Pakistan who are suffering as a result of the floods that hit the country - were received through RCA branches, Malls, SMS text messages, and call centres.
