Dr Hadef Jua'an Al Daheri, Minister of Justice

He obtained a PhD in Constitutional Law from Cambridge University. He was the Director of the UAE University. He worked as the Chairman of the Consultative Authority of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Saqr Gobash Saeed Gobash, Minister of Labour

Gobash graduated from the Police College in Sudan in 1973. He also obtained a bachelor's degree in administration from the UAE University in 1986. He was promoted to the grade of minister and named UAE ambassador to the United States.

Born in 1952, Gobash was undersecretary at the then Ministry of Information and Culture from 1997 to 2005.

He was undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior between May 1991 and December 1997.

He has four daughters and three sons.

Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs

He has been Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2000. He was vice-chairman of the Dubai Chamber from 1982 to 1997.

Al Tayer holds various posts as Chairman of Al Tayer Group; Chairman and Managing Director of Al Nisr Publishing LLC; Chairman of Obaid Humaid Al Tayer Engineering.

He is a former member of the Federal National Council, a member of the Dubai Municipality Council and Board of Directors of Etisalat.

Maitha Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State

Maitha Al Shamsi obtained a PhD in Sociology from Ain Shams University in Egypt in 1992. She held the post of deputy director of the UAE University for Scientific Research and Director of the university's Centre for Research and Foreign Consultations. Maitha was also the Chairperson of the Scientific Research Board of the UAE University.

Reem Ebrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State

Reem Al Hashemi holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and French from Tufts University in Massachusetts bin addition to graduate studies at Harvard University. She has served as the Deputy Chief of Mission in the UAE Embassy in Washington. She also worked in the Executive Office of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Reem has appeared on several international news programmes as the UAE representative.

Rashid Ahmad Bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water

He has been elected to the board of directors of American Society for Testing and Materials. He is secretary general of the GCC Standardisation Organisation and board vice-chairman and head of the Executive Committee of the Emirates Authority for Standards and Metrology.

Bin Fahad holds a B.Sc in chemical engineering from Northeastern University, Boston and earned his M.Sc in environmental science from Emirates University and his Ph.D in civil engineering from Strathclyde, Glasgow.

Khalifa Bakheet Al Falasi, Minister of State

Khalifa Al Falasi earned a PhD in Political Science — International Relations. He was the UAE's first Ambassador to Australia and was instrumental in developing the relations between the two countries and the announcement of a strategic partnership in 2002.

A member of the Consultative Authority of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Khalifa was also undersecretary in the Ministry of Education.
