Profile: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum
Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum was appointed as Dubai Crown Prince on February 1, 2008.
Dubai: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum was appointed as Dubai Crown Prince on February 1, 2008.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued a decree appointing him to the role.
Shaikh Hamdan was born on November 14, 1982. He studied at the Rashid Private School, Dubai and then moved on to the UK's Sandhurst Royal Military Academy.
He has attended specialised courses at the London School of Economics and the Dubai School of Government.
An accomplished horse rider, Shaikh Hamdan has won several awards at local and international endurance races, including the Gold Medal at the Asian Olympic Games.
He has a passion for poetry.
He is currently the chairman of the Dubai Executive Council and is the president of Dubai Sports Council, Dubai Autism Centre and the Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders.
