Abu Dhabi: The committee tasked with following up on the orders of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has approved the construction and distribution of 897 houses for UAE nationals in various emirates across the country.

The order is in line with the directives of Shaikh Khalifa and instructions of General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The committee endorsed a project for building 426 new houses, and distributing 92 homes which have been constructed for beneficiaries in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain. The committee also approved providing 87 houses for people living in old houses, and allocated 292 homes for people with special needs, widows and other segments in society that are in urgent need of housing.

The move aims to secure a decent life for Emiratis, raise their standard of living and achieve family stability.

Ahmad Juma Al Za’abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Committee, said that the housing projects and programmes are being followed up by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, to ensure that the housing units, services and facilities meet the needs of citizens.
