President receives more condolences
President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan yesterday received condolences from Arab and Muslim leaders on the death of Shaikh Nasser Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, at Al Mushrif Palace.
Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan yesterday received condolences from Arab and Muslim leaders on the death of Shaikh Nasser Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, at Al Mushrif Palace.
Receiving condolences with Shaikh Khalifa were General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Shaikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister.
The President received condolences from President Esmail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti, Prince Hashem Bin Al Hussain and Jordanian Prime Minister Nader Al Dahabi, who also conveyed condolences from King Abdullah II of Jordan.
He received Saudi and Bahraini envoys who conveyed condolences from King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia and King Hamad Bin Eisa Al Khalifa of Bahrain.
Shaikh Khalifa received condolences from Mustafa Othman Esmail, Sudan's envoy who conveyed condolences from Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir, Haitham Bin Tareq, Oman's Minister of Heritage and Culture, Hamad Abdul Rahman Al Attiyah, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Asef Zardari, Leader of Pakistan Peoples Party.
He also received condolences from Shaikh Ahmad Al Fahd Al Ahmad of Kuwait and Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal of Saudi Arabia.
The President received cables of condolences and phone calls from Arab and Muslim leaders who extended their condolences on the death of Shaikh Nasser.
He received cables from Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, President Abdul Aziz Bouteflika of Algeria, President Zine Al Abidine Bin Ali of Tunisia, King Mohammad VI of Morocco, and from Presidents Sidi Mohammad Ould Al Shaikh Ahmad of Mauritania, Isias Afwerki of Eritrea, Abdullah Gul of Turkey and Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan.
Shaikh Khalifa received phone calls from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Fouad Siniora, Lebanese Prime Minister designate, and Nawaz Sharif, former Pakistani prime minister and other Arab and Muslim officials.
The President also received condolences from shaikhs, senior officials, dignitaries and scores of UAE citizens and expatriate residents at Al Mushrif Palace.
Mourners expressed their heartfelt condolences on the death of Shaikh Nasser, and prayed to Almighty Allah to bestow mercy upon him and grant the Al Nahyan family solace and patience.
Receiving condolences with Shaikh Khalifa were Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works.
