Abu Dhabi: New security checking mechanisms for those arriving in the country were ordered by the Higher Committee for Child Protection at the Ministry of Interior as part of a study.

The committee also emphasised in the study that the new procedures must include ways of making sure that those entering the country do not have a child molestation record.

The study also looked into developing methods of monitoring the use of ID cards by parents and documenting the records of the internet in universities, schools and internet coffee shops.

The higher committee which is presided over by Major General Nasser Lekhraibani Al Nuaimi, General Secretary of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, formed five specialised committees.

Major General Al Nuaimi lauded the support of Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, for setting up the Higher Committee for child protection over a detailed and specific strategy that will achieve its goals of protecting children against abuse and assault, especially through the internet.
