Abu Dhabi: A new Emirates ID registration centre was recently opened at Madinat Zayed in Abu Dhabi’s Western Region, the Emirates Identity Authority (Emirates ID) announced in a statement sent today (Saturday).

The centre, which offers ID card-related services such as fingerprinting, typing, photography, renewal and registration, can process 480 customers per day, the statement added.

Dr Ali Al Khoury, director general of Emirates ID, inaugurated the centre, which is located in the Union National Bank building in Madinat Zayed. The opening ceremony was attended by Saeed Salem Al Mazroui, head of humanitarian care at the court of the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, as well as a number of other government officials.

The statement added that among 62 temporary and permanent ID registration centres across the UAE, 21 are located in Abu Dhabi.
