Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai said that the Arab Health Congress and Exhibition is an excellent scientific medical demonstration given the level of participants and visitors.

Shaikh Mohammad visited the 39th Arab Health Congress and Exhibition yesterday afternoon accompanied by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, which concludes Thursday.

Shaikh Mohammad was briefed on the latest exhibits, which include medical laboratories and operating theatres, and therapeutic and medical equipment used in the processing of hospitals and health clinics of various kinds.

Shaikh Mohammad also pointed out that the exhibition is a platform to exchange views, ideas, experiences and scientific studies that contribute to the development of health care.

Shaikh Mohammad welcomed exhibitors, physicians and scientists who have come from every corner of the world, stressing that the UAE will always remain an oasis of cultural harmony and human generosity.

During his inspection tour of the four-day exhibition, Shaikh Mohammad was also accompanied by Abdul Rahman Bin Mohammad Al Owais, Minister of Health, Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dr. Maha Barakat, Director-General of the Health Authority Abu Dhabi, and Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai.

Shaikh Mohammad also attended the signing of an agreement for the unification of licences for medical practitioners in the country.

Shaikh Mohammad commended the signing of the agreement, calling it, “A new step on the right path in order to unify the regulations, laws and procedures governing this noble human profession.”

The agreement was signed by Abdul Rahman Bin Mohammad Al Owais, Minister of Health on the Ministry’s side and Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and Dr Maha Barakat, Director-General of the Health Authority Abu Dhabi.
