Ajman: Serving the nation does not stop on an official holiday if there is a true feeling of responsibility towards the nation, the Vice-President said.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Saturday met His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, at Al Safiyah Palace in Ajman.
Later, Shaikh Mohammad chaired a meeting of Cabinet members and heads and directors of federal and local bodies in Ajman.
Several national issues related to the nation's development at the federal and local levels, and ways to strengthen coordination and integration between federal ministries and bodies, and local government departments were discussed.
Shaikh Mohammad called on Cabinet members and local department heads to shoulder their responsibilities and discharge their duties faithfully so as to place the UAE among developed countries.
Pledge
"We work for the nation and citizens to carry on with the federation's structure, whose foundations were laid down by the founding fathers, to maintain the UAE's status in the forefront among civilised nations," Shaikh Mohammad said.
"Placing the UAE among advanced countries will be the fulfillment of my government's pledge before President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the UAE's people — the centre of the government strategy and the security valve of the nation's march," Shaikh Mohammad said
The Vice-President underlined the need to hold these meetings to exchange views and arrive at a common vision to promote balanced development in different parts of the country.
Shaikh Mohammad issued instructions to set up joint work teams, comprising members from federal bodies and local departments in Ajman.
He stressed the importance of boosting confidence in young Emiratis who are empowered with knowledge and the ability to change and excel.
The Vice-President said that serving the nation does not stop on an official holiday if there is a true feeling of responsibility towards the nation, its institutions and citizens, and this was the message that he wanted to convey through Saturday's meeting. Shaikh Mohammad voiced his satisfaction with holding such meetings to exchange views and develop appropriate mechanisms to realise the UAE Vision 2021.
Shaikh Humaid welcomed Shaikh Mohammad's initiative to hold such a joint meeting as a good step that reflects the Vice-President's sharp vision and noble intentions aimed at activating the joint national action in all aspects and fields.
Shaikh Humaid hosted a lunch banquet in honour of Shaikh Mohammad and his entourage.
