Mohammad taken on Beijing tour
Beijing: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, visited a number of industrial, technological, health and sports facilities during his two-day visit to China.
He toured the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA), which is the only State-level development zone in Beijing, part of which is the Yizhuang Science Park under Zhongguancun Scientific and Technological Park.
Situated in the southeast suburb of Beijing, the BDA sits to the west of the entrance to the Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway and south of the planned Fifth Ring Road. The BDA is 3.5 kilometres to the south of the Fourth Ring Road, seven kilometres to the south of the Third Ring Road, and 16.5 kilometres away from the Tian'anmen Square in downtown Beijing. It is 20 minutes' drive to the Capital International Airport, five minutes' drive to the Cargo Railway Station nearby, and 90 minutes' drive to the Tianjin New Harbour. The eastern part of the BDA is the industrial area, the western part is the living quarters, and in between are the administration and service areas.
Shaikh Mohammad and the accompanying delegation also toured a number of plants and institutions specialising in the field of Chinese herbal medicine.
He visited the Beijing Tong Ren Tang Pharmaceutical Factory, which manufactures traditional Chinese health preparations, and he was briefed on the phases of production.
He then visited the Beijing National Stadium, colloquially known as the Bird's Nest, used during the Beijing Olympics 2008.
