Mohammad receives greetings from members of Al Maktoum family

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday received members of the Al Maktoum family.

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday received members of the Al Maktoum family.

The members came to offer their greetings to Shaikh Mohammad on the appointment of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum as Crown Prince of Dubai and Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum as Deputy Ruler of Dubai. Shaikh Mohammad hosted a banquet in honour of the well-wishers, who included family members as well as other shaikhs, senior officials and dignitaries.

Earlier, Shaikh Mohammad received Tony Blair, the Quartet Committee's special envoy to the Middle East, who briefed him on the committee's tasks and his role in bringing views between Palestinians and Israelis closer to reach a just solution and establish an independent Palestinian state.

Shaikh Mohammad called on Blair to utilise all his political expertise and make every possible effort to solve this issue of the Palestinian people and see the justice of the Palestinian question, which deserves more attention from great powers and the United Nations to further achieve justice and equality between all peoples of the region.

Shaikh Mohammad also received Goh Chok Tong, Senior Minister of Singapore and exchanged with him views on bilateral relations and the current situation of the global economy.

They also explored ways to bolster their economic and investment ties, referring to the private sector's role in developing the relation between the two countries.
