Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has issued orders to expand the road network in Umm Al Quwain.
The order was given by Shaikh Mohammad during his visit to Umm Al Quwain last week.
The roads will be built in certain areas of the emirate where the number of low-income residents is high.
Dr Abdullah Bal Heef Al Nuaimi, director-general of the Ministry of Public Works, said the ministry has taken all necessary procedures to implement Shaikh Mohammad's order as soon as possible.
"The instructions of Shaikh Mohammad reflect his keen desire to reduce the burden of citizens living in areas inhabited by people with low income and improving the standard of living by constructing new road networks that will help provide access to the main roads," he added.
