Dubai: More than 700 houses worth Dh950 million have been allocated for Emiratis in Al Warqa and Al Barsha areas in Dubai.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the allocation of 761 houses for Emirati citizens.

The houses costing Dh950 million, include 509 villas in Al Barsha South and 252 villas in Al Warqa 4.

Shaikh Mohammad also gave instructions to allocate 121 housing units for Emiratis with limited income. The initiative reflects Shaikh Mohammad's keenness on offering appropriate accommodation to Emiratis of all social classes and meeting their basic needs, especially a dignified housing.

According to Sami Gargash, Chief Executive Officer of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, the total cost of the project is Dh950 million, out of which Dh620 million is allocated for Al Warqa 4 Project for the construction of 509 villas on 81 hectares of land.

The construction of houses in Al Warqa 4 is the second phase of the Al Warqa project which saw the building of 544 houses in the first phase, bringing the total number to 1,053 houses, Gargash said. The Al Barsha housing project involves the construction of 252 villas on 24 hectares at a cost of Dh328 million.

The allocated units are of nine designs ranging from three to five bedrooms and facades with 3 different architectural styles: Islamic, domestic and Andalusian.

Gargash stressed that the establishment is pushing forward to complete its projects in the areas and that it sends SMS updates to beneficiaries on the progress of work and procedures for their units.

Since its inception in 2007, the establishment has completed 1,646 housing units for nationals in different areas in Dubai. The allocation of the new units reflects Shaikh Mohammad's interest in the well-being of nationals and providing all services under one roof and through multiple options including granting residential plots of land, government houses and ready-made houses. In addition, maintaining and expanding existing houses and granting housing loans in accordance with their policies and standards.

Gargash pointed out that the establishment is coordinating with the Dubai Municipality to accelerate completion of the houses to allow people to move in as soon as possible.
