Cairo - General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, reaffirmed the UAE’s support for the Egyptian people’s choices and national ambitions, which is in line with the wise directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Shaikh Mohammad made the statement yesterday during a meeting with Egyptian Interim President Adly Mansour in Cairo.
Shaikh Mohammad said that the UAE’s stand stems from the UAE’s national and humanitarian policies that are based on peace, stability, and tolerance, and its call for cooperation and renouncing violence in order to consolidate stability and spread prosperity among all peoples.
Shaikh Mohammad expressed the UAE’s satisfaction with the return of peace and security in Egypt thanks to efforts exerted by the Egyptian leadership during this important phase. He also expressed the UAE’s satisfaction with the participation of various active national powers to carry out the road map, which will set up a new era in Egypt and pave the path for development and progress, allowing Egypt to continue to play its key regional and international role.
During the meeting, Shaikh Mohammad and Mansour discussed avenues of cooperation and ways to enhance them for mutual benefit. They also spoke about ways to further bolster current partnerships in the field of economy, investment and development, as well as coordination on matters of mutual concern.
Shaikh Mohammad said that Egypt has exerted so much effort for Arab and Islamic issues, and that it has never fallen short of providing all forms of support and assistance to defend issues pertaining to the Arab world, and therefore it is not strange to see such support from Arab countries to actively support and stand by Egypt during its crisis.
Mansour conveyed his greetings to Shaikh Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the people of the UAE. He praised the UAE’s supportive stance for Egypt and the choices of its people. He also hailed the various initiatives and contributions of the UAE, which are deeply appreciated by the Egyptian leadership and people. He added that such support reflects the strong brotherly relations between the two countries and their peoples.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, and other senior officials.
