Mohammad leads prayer congregation in Al Gharbia

Ministers plant 22 Ghaf trees in the shape of the map of UAE around Qasr Al Sarab Resort to mark Cabinet meeting being held there

Liwa: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai performed Friday prayers at the Hamim Mosque in Al Gharbia (formerly the Western Region), accompanied by cabinet members, on Friday.

Shaikh Mohammad also gave the ministers a break to take part in various recreational activities in the desert, following a long hectic day of work.

Accompanied by Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and other cabinet members, Shaikh Mohammad planted 22 Ghaf trees around the Qasr Al Sarab Resort to mark the Cabinet meeting being held at the resort.

Shaikh Mohammad planted the first tree and was followed by each minister. The 22 trees formed the UAE map, representing the union. The cabinet members also indulged in different sports activities.

Shaikh Mansour also chaired a cabinet meeting which was held on the periphery of the special cabinet session in Liwa.

Shaikh Mansour and the ministers discussed a number of issues which resulted in ideas and suggestions related to the government strategy, which were presented to Shaikh Mohammad at the first cabinet session.

Shaikh Mansour also invited the ministers on Wednesday to an Arab gathering in the Liwa desert.
