Mohammad lauds ministerial team

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai held a Cabinet meeting yesterday at the Dhida rest house in Fujairah.

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai held a Cabinet meeting yesterday at the Dhida rest house in Fujairah.

The meeting which will continue for two days was also attended by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister. Shaikh Mohammad conducted talks with his Cabinet Ministers before the official meeting.

Shaikh Mohammad opened the meeting by commending the Ministers and their respective teams for all their efforts. He also commended those who took part in readying the contents of the governmental strategy by June 30.

He urged the ministers to ensure swift implementation of the strategy after its approval by the Cabinet.

"What really matters now is that the ministers should oversee implementation of the strategy, once approved by the Cabinet, in a way that will contribute in enhancing government sector performance and ensuring proper coordination between all government departments according to international best practices in governance and sustainable development," Shaikh Mohammad said.

Shaikh Mohammad listened throughout the morning and afternoon session to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Interior, Justice, Cabinet Affairs, General Works, Environment and Energy presentations.

The ministers also explained their ministries' strategies, mechanisms and executive plans in the framework of the comprehensive government's strategy extending from 2008-2010.
