Dubai: Improving government services rendered to the public and developing institutions were discussed by the Cabinet on Sunday.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday chaired the Cabinet meeting during which a number of issues were discussed.
Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, were present.
The meeting issued appropriate decisions on a number of topics that were discussed.
The decisions involved improving government services rendered to the public, developing institutions, and enhancing trade, economic and cultural relations with a number of brotherly and friendly countries.
Trade secrets
The meeting reviewed decisions made by the Cabinet and Ministerial Service Council last year regarding legislation related to foreign policy and economic, education, health, justice, security, and community sectors.
The Cabinet approved the appointment of Saqr Gobash, Minister of Labour, as Chairman of the National Authority for Qualifications. The Cabinet gave a go ahead for the Ministry of Economy to draw up a draft law on protecting trade secrets.
It also approved issuing a federal law on controlling precious stone trafficking and completing its procedures, and approved increasing the capital of the UAE Central Bank and restructuring the board of Zayed University.
The Cabinet endorsed a cooperation agreement between GCC countries and Malaysia, and the signing of two air transport agreements between the UAE and Argentina and India. It also approved an agreement on customs cooperation between the UAE and Syria.
