Algeria: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, conducted talks on Thursday with Abdul Aziz Bouteflika, Algerian President regarding mutual relationships between the two countries and the best ways to enhance them.

Shaikh Mohammad was welcomed by the Algerian president at the People’s Palace in the Algerian capital on Thursday afternoon along with his accompanying delegation.

Bouteflika greeted Shaikh Mohammad and said he hoped this visit would further solidify relations between the UAE and Algeria.

Shaikh Mohammad relayed the greetings of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Algerian president and his best wishes to the Algerian leadership and people.

The meeting was also attended by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister.

Ways to support and develop relations of cooperation were discussed in various fields of progress, social and economic, to achieve the common interests of the two countries.

Shaikh Mohammad stressed that brotherly relations between the two countries are firm and that the UAE led by Shaikh Khalifa is always keen on promoting bilateral relations with Algeria in all fields and achieving the additional goals of the countries, whether economic, social or scientific.

The two also discussed the developments taking place in the Arab, regional and international scene.

The meeting was also attended by Mohammad Faris Al Mazroui, Assistant Foreign Minister for Security Affairs and other senior officials.

Earlier Shaikh Mohammad was received at the capital’s Houari Boumediene Airport, by Abdul Qader Bin Saleh, the Speaker of the Algerian Parliament and other ministers and top officials.

Shaikh Mohammad also inspected the guard of honour.
