Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Tuesday received at Al Mushrif Palace Irakli Garibashvili, Georgia’s Prime Minister, and his delegation.

During the meeting, Shaikh Mohammad and Garibashvili discussed cooperation between the UAE and Georgia, and ways to enhance and develop it to achieve mutual interests. They also spoke about issues of mutual concern and recent regional and international developments.

Shaikh Mohammad stressed that such visits help support and strengthen bilateral relations, as well as open new avenues of cooperation and the exchange of expertise that will forge partnerships that serve development programmes in both countries.

Shaikh Mohammad and Garibashvili discussed the level of coordination between both countries’ local institutions and authorities, and emphasised the importance of developing them in the field of economy, investment, trade and education.

Shaikh Mohammad said that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, looks forward to further bolstering the constructive friendly relations with Georgia, which are based on dialogue and mutual interests that benefit the peoples of both countries.

Shaikh Mohammad expressed his hope that the relations would meet the aspirations of both countries’ leaderships for strengthening cooperation and opening new avenues for joint work in ambitious economic and development projects.

Garibashvili expressed his happiness in visiting the UAE in light of the current cooperation between both countries in the field of economy, investment and trade. He hailed the progress achieved by the UAE in all fields. He also reaffirmed his country’s desire to strengthen relations with the UAE, and said that he was confident that levels of cooperation between the two nations will continue to grow.

Shaikh Mohammad hosted a lunch banquet in honour of Garibashvili and his delegation.

Present during the meeting were Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and other shaikhs and Georgian officials.
