Umm Al Quwain: Dr Abdullah Bin Mohammad Bel Haif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Works, has stressed the UAE’s keenness to develop integrated infrastructure of a high degree of quality and efficiency, which achieves the aspirations of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members, for sustainable development.
Dr Al Nuaimi made the remarks during his visit to road projects in Umm Al Quwain.
The minister emphasised that his ministry aims to build a high quality, efficient road network with safety and security requirements to ensure smooth vehicular traffic in compliance with highest international standards, taking into account the requirements of sustainability and the environment.
Dr Al Nuaimi inspected the Emirates Road extension project which runs parallel to Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road towards the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
He listened to a detailed explanation about the project from Abdul Rahman Al Mahmoud, project manager, who said that the project includes the building of a dual carriageway with two lanes in each direction with a length of 16 kilometres. He added that the Dh139 million road is scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2016.
