Dubai: The Dubai Press Club will be organising a media gathering on Thursday in Cairo to underline the growing economic, cultural and social cooperation between the two nations.
The gathering, which will be attended by media leaders and decision makers from Egypt and the UAE was organised under the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Egyptian Prime Minister Ebrahim Mahlab and UAE Minister of State and Chairman of the Coordination Office of UAE-funded Development Projects in Egypt Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber are the gathering’s keynote speakers.
In their address, Mahlab and Al Jaber will highlight the latest milestones in Egyptian-Emirati cooperation aimed at supporting Egypt to regain its historic and strategic role as a major regional player.
Mona Ganem Al Merri, Director General of the Government of Dubai Media Office and Chairperson of Dubai Press Club, said that the gathering confirms the significant responsibilities of media in catalysing cross-border cooperation. She highlighted the importance of the media sector which directly touches the community and impacts its judgement on surrounding developments.
“Media gatherings are usually very unique as they turn into robust workshops for creativity and innovation where ideas interact to generate new visions. We are looking forward to hear our Egyptian counterparts’ ideas to instigate a new phase of fruitful integration between our two countries,” Mona explained.
Guided by the directives of the leaderships of the two countries, the Emirati-Egyptian relations entered a new phase of closer cooperation as the UAE declared its support for Egypt to overcome current developmental challenges.
