Dubai: Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, has called upon government agencies and departments to streamline their procedures for customers and reduce service delivery time.

Shaikh Maktoum said the Dubai Government must excel in simplifying procedures and make it easier for customers by setting up mechanisms that take into account the abilities of all segments of society.

The instructions came during the Executive Council meeting that was chaired by Shaikh Maktoum and was held at his office in Emirates Towers in the presence of Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and CEO of Emirates airline and Group, and Second Deputy Chairman of the Board.

The meeting discussed a number of projects and topics on its agenda, where Shaikh Maktoum urged all government departments and agencies to facilitate government procedures and transactions for both UAE citizens and residents alike.

The board of directors also discussed the marine safety policy, which aims at developing, regulating and enhancing all facets related to the marine sector to ensure the safety and protection of seafarers and those using the marine routes.

The members were also briefed on the main stages of developing policies, the key initiatives for coming years, including the monitoring of marine routes throughout the day, tracking and identifying the distress calls locations.

They were also briefed on the project for measuring strategic performance in the marine safety sector in cooperation with the relevant authorities.

They also discussed setting up a technical committee for swift response to marine accidents and developing and integrating marine inspection operations.
