Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan inspected here yesterday a number of agricultural and construction projects.

Shaikh Khalifa, who is on his third day of the Western Region's tour, also attended a wedding ceremony of citizen Rashid Saeed Mohammad Harmesh Al Mansouri.

The family of the groom expressed their happiness as their occasion was graced by Shaikh Khalifa.

Accompanying the President was Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, along with a number of shaikhs and senior official.

For a third day in a row, Shaikh Khalifa continued his tour of the Western Region of Abu Dhabi, meeting with residents of the area and listening to their needs and expectations.

In a meeting with a number of citizens who had come to greet him, Shaikh Khalifa called for increased engagement and interaction between government institutions and citizens.

These public institutions, he said, were created in the first place to serve the public.

“We do not want the state relationship with its citizens to be a one-way relationship. Rather, each and every citizen must serve his or her country in every way possible,'' said Shaikh Khalifa.

As he listened to the needs of the citizens, Shaikh Khalifa assured them that the state would do everything with its power to ensure the prosperity of its citizens.

The President instructed officials to take action on issues raised by the citizens during the meeting.

A number of poets from the area recited their poems, praising the persona of Shaikh Khalifa and his leadership.
