Western Region: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the construction of 400 low-cost houses for citizens in Delma Island.
Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, announced Shaikh Khalifa's gesture during a tour of the island yesterday.
He also extended to the citizens of Delma Islands the greetings of Shaikh Khalifa and General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Shaikh Hamdan first visited the monument built in honour of the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and where the late Shaikh Zayed inaugurated the three offshore fields of Delma, Satim and Gernin in 1981. Shaikh Hamdan then visited the proposed construction area for the 400 houses.
He met with the citizens of Delma Island to inquire about their living conditions. He also inspected the work progress on various development and services projects.
Shaikh Hamdan listened to the opinions of the citizens on the quality of services being provided. He also instructed the concerned authorities to ensure the citizens live comfortably.
