Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Executive Council’s executive committee has approved the suggested project of international festivities to be carried out in Khalifa Park from November 2012 to March 2013.

The committee, at a meeting presided over by the chairman of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Tourism and Culture Shaikh Sultan Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, ratified the proposal for hosting a five-month-long entertainment event at Khalifa Park in Abu Dhabi city.

The event, to be organised by Abu Dhabi Municipality in association with a private firm specialised in event management, will start in November this year and run up to March 2013.

The entertainment project is expected to lure more tourists to the emirate, giving added life to the thriving tourism sector through provision of more recreational places.

This will also give residents more opportunities of entertainment with participation of world troupes.
