Sultan Al Mualla, Director General of Sharjah Municipality, told Gulf News that the inspection campaign is carried in cooperation with the Public Health Department at Sharjah Municipality, and municipality inspectors will work for round the clock during the holidays to ensure that all food available in the market is fit for human consumption.
"Inspections will also be intensified in ports and airports to ensure that live birds and live stock are not carrying diseases that could be transmitted from animals to humans.
The inspectors also are instructed to conduct unannounced visits to restaurants, cafeteria and other food outlets to ensure they are abiding by health regulation and hygiene," explained Al Mualla.
Emergency services
