Indian President Pratibha Patil arrives today on five-day visit to UAE

Abu Dhabi: In a major boost to the centuries-old India-UAE relations, Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil is scheduled to arrive in Abu Dhabi today at 8pm on a five-day official visit, the Indian Ambassador to the UAE told Gulf News on Saturday.

Senior UAE officials along with the Indian ambassador, will welcome the president at the airport, M.K. Lokesh said.

An unprecedented increase in bilateral trade and the growing presence of Indian expatriates in the UAE (around 1.7 million, comprising the largest expatriate community in the country) have taken India-UAE relations to new heights in recent years with frequent high-level interactions.
