Abu Dhabi: The hearts of UAE’s people, citizens and residents alike were as one as they prayed for the health of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Their wishes were the same — invoking divine care for Shaikh Khalifa — social media showed over the last two days.
Shaikh Khalifa suffered a stroke on Friday, immediately underwent surgery and was in stable condition, according to a statement by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, on Saturday.
The prayers everybody could hear everywhere and on every media are for the President’s speedy recovery and good health.
Prominent among the well-wishers is a young Emirati vocalist, Ebrahim Al Obaidli, who chants: “0 Almighty Allah, Lord and Sustainer of mankind, remove Shaikh Khalifa’s difficulty and cure him. You are the only One who cures. There is no cure but Yours.”
Al Obaidly went on to chant: “O Almighty, grant such [complete] cure that leaves no trace of illness. I ask Almighty Allah, Lord of the Magnificent Throne, to make Shaikh Khalifa well.”
The prayers, almost every twitter user shares, go: “Oh Allah! The Sustainer of Mankind! Remove the illness, cure the disease. You are the One who cures. There is no cure except Your cure. Grant Shaikh Khalifa a cure that leaves no illness.”
Al Obaidly chanted: “I seek protection in the might of Allah and His power from the evil of what Shaikh Khalifa experiences. Remove the harm O Lord of humankind and heal him, for You are the Healer and there is no healing except Your healing, with a healing which does not leave any disease behind.”
These prayers encapsulated the UAE people’s feelings for the President.
This is the second massive response that recognised the President’s tireless efforts that have greatly benefited the country and its people, and the ambitious vision that spurs the country’s success as well as ways to realise it.
The first heart-warming gesture was the ‘Thank You Khalifa’ initiative launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, on the occasion of his accession, when he asked the people of the UAE to show gratitude to Shaikh Khalifa and his care for his people.
Under Shaikh Khalifa’s leadership, the UAE people have felt they are the happiest in the world.
Today, the UAE is one of the leading tourism, investment and business centres in the world, a regional gateway to trade and a global transportation hub.
Today, the UAE has one of the highest literacy rates in the region, one of the highest gender equality ratios and one of the highest life expectancy rates in the world.
The UAE has remained a secure destination for foreign investors and an oasis of stability and progress despite the global economic slowdown.
A portrait of Shaikh Khalifa was posted on Twitter with a caption that says how the UAE people feel about Shaikh Khalifa – “O Shaikh Khalifa you are the sight to our country’s eyes.”
Leaders of many Arab and foreign countries phoned General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and wished Shaikh Khalifa a speedy recovery and good health.
General Shaikh Mohammad expressed his thanks to all those who fervently prayed for Shaikh Khalifa’s good health.
