Dubai () Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, yesterday visited the Dubai General Department for Residency and Foreigners Affairs.

He was welcomed by Major General Mohammad Ahmad Al Merri, director-general of the Dubai General Department for Residency and Foreigners Affairs and his deputy, Brigadier Obaid Bin Muhair.

Shaikh Hamdan viewed the electronic services offered by the department to the public. He listened to a brief about the services. They included the Barq service, the new mobile visa service through cellphones, the e-link between airline companies and other tourism firms to the department, and the e-link between the department and the Dubai Health Authority which all aim to save customers' time.

Shaikh Hamdan also viewed the electronic exchange project between the department and the Ministry of Labour. This service includes statistics of employees and labourers asking for work visas, the number of violators and elimination of paper by processing all procedures electronically.

Shaikh Hamdan entered the women's visa hall, and viewed the visa issuance procedure which is done with ease and without women having to stand in long lines. Shaikh Hamdan wrote in the department's guest book, praising the efforts of the workers and their services to their country.
