Dubai: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, on Tuesday ordered the speedy implementation of Brand Dubai projects.

He reviewed the progress of work in the first phase during a visit to the Government of Dubai Media Office’s headquarters.

Shaikh Hamdan was updated on the latest Brand Dubai projects that aim to highlight the unique character of Dubai as one of the world’s fastest growing and culturally diverse cities.

The move is in line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to turn Dubai into an open air gallery.

Brand Dubai is an initiative launched by the Government of Dubai Media Office in collaboration with Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA).

It aims to emphasise the creative aspect of Dubai’s achievements in all fields.

Shaikh Hamdan underlined the need to abide by the pre-determined time schedule to finish the projects, and that all fundamental requirements would be in place to ensure their implementation in a creative manner, in order to achieve the desired goals of the projects, with an emphasis on Dubai’s leading and rich human experience in construction, development and creativity.

He praised the innovative projects and creative ideas that he was briefed about, and stressed the need to give special importance to simple details that would add richly and uniquely to these projects, and consequently receive people’s admiration for the perfect and excellent work done.

Shaikh Hamdan underlined the need to integrate the city’s cultural dimension into Brand Dubai projects as an integral part of economic and urban accomplishments where the UAE’s rich cultural heritage serve as a source of inspiration for generating creative ideas and lay down a common ground for creativity in the various fields.

He was briefed by Mona Al Merri, director-general of the Dubai Government Media Office, on the goals of the project in line with Shaikh Mohammad’s vision.

Shaikh Hamdan was then informed by Nora Al Abbar, head of Government Media Affairs at the Media Office, about project ideas within Brand Dubai, which is implemented in cooperation with a number of government and semi-government bodies organizations and private institutions in different sites across the emirate, with the participation of creative and talented artists.
