Final results of FNC polls on December 24
The final results of the election to the Federal National Council (FNC) will be declared on December 24.
Abu Dhabi: The final results of the election to the Federal National Council (FNC) will be declared on December 24.
The National Election Committee (NEC) yesterday announced the timeline of the election that is set to take place on December 16, 18 and 20. Registration of candidates will be held from November 19 to 22.
The primary candidate list will be announced on November 23 and 24. The final candidate list will be declared on November 30 and campaigning will be held from December 1 to 14.
The deadline to withdraw from the election is December 9. There are provisions to challenge the vote count and hold re-elections. However, under the timeline announced yesterday, final results of the re-election will be declared on December 30.
"The FNC election is the right step in paving the way for wider representation of citizens and empowerment of the council. The process will also encourage the emergence of a new generation of young leaders and bring energy and commitment to the work of the FNC," said Tariq Hilal Lootah, Secretary-General of FNC Affairs Ministry.
