Emirates Red Crescent donates $500,000 to UN agency

Amman: A donation of $500,000 (Dh1.8 million) was made to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) for the benefit of refugees in Gaza by the Emirates Red Crescent.

Filippo Grandi, UNRWA’s Commissioner-General, said that this generous donation will contribute in providing food baskets which will include sugar, flour, rice, cooking oil and milk for 2,500 needy refugee families of the 14,000 people that benefit from the UN programme.

He added that the Emirates Red Crescent is a constant donator to Palestinian refugees through UNRWA.
