Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the Red Crescent Authority (RCA), has ordered moving of Emirates World Mobile Humanitarian Hospital to the Horn African country of Eritrea under supervision of Emirates World Medical Team to provide the medical services there.
The hospital will provide free curative, surgical, preventive and training medical services to children and elderly under supervision of elite doctors, and surgeons from the UAE and Eritrea with the participation of the Eritrean Ministry of Health, and UAE public and private institutions.
The move, which coincides with the first day of the Holy Month of Ramadad, comes in the wake of successes scored by the hospital in many friendly and sisterly countries nationwide.
Khadim Al Daraei, Head of the Work Team of Emirates Mobile Hospital, said the UAE is keen to adopt humanitarian initiatives to alleviate suffering of the needy and sick in those countries, indicating that the move follows the directives by the leadership to offer the medical services to the needy.
Al Amin Nafi Yousuf, Charge d' affaires at the Eritrean Embassy in the UAE thanked the UAE on behalf of the Eritrean people for its humanitarian gesture to ease the suffering of the sick people there, describing the move reflects the depth of fraternal relations between the two countries.
For his part, Emirati Surgeon and Executive Director of Emirates Mobile Hospital, Dr Adel Al Shamri, stressed the significance of success of such humanitarian programmes through coordination between Emirates World Heart Group on one hand, and the public and private institutions on the other.
He cited the success scored by the Emirates Mobile Hospital over the past years.
