Dubai to fine people who make public places dirty

Dubai: The Dubai Municipality will fine residents who make public places dirty by throwing waste or spitting.

Abdul Majeed Al Saifaie, director of Waste Management Department, said penalty will be implemented after the civic body completes an awareness campaign that educates people, including commercial establishments about the violations.

The department has launched an awareness programme, which will educate people in residential and also commercial areas in Deira about the penalties for such violations under Local Order No 11 of 2003.
