Dubai: Dubai Police has joined the MyID platform, which allows customers to log in to access a range of services from government entities.

Dubai Police becomes the tenth government entity to offer its services throught the platform, Dubai Smart Government (DSG) announced on Friday.

People seeking to access Dubai Police services can register and obtain a single sign-on (username and password) related to MyID. The services available through smart phones and the internet include payment of traffic fines, reporting crimes, reporting traffic accidents, applying for clearance certificate, enquiring about status of roads, applying for good conduct certificates, requests to communicate with suppliers, reporting a bounced cheque, filing tourist security complaints, requesting change of vehicle’s colour, besides services provided by the other participating government entities.

The website (https://myid.dubai.gov.ae) allows all customers of the member entities participating in the service to register in MyID and access services of all participating entities through a single accounts.

According to the latest statistics announced by DSG, as many as 38,000 users have registered for the service. The ten government entities participating in the service are Dubai Department of Economic Development, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Municipality, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs — Dubai, Dubai Public Prosecution, Dubai Health Authority, Mohammad Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, Dubai Police, and DSG.

Ahmad Bin Humaidan, Director General of Dubai Smart Government, said: “Dubai Smart Government strives to provide the infrastructure and shared services to enable government entities to give the public smooth access to their services round the clock wherever they are, thereby contributing effectively to full transformation into smart government and to Dubai becoming the smartest city in the world.”

Bin Humaidan added, “ To ensure easy and seamless registration, we have provided 18 electronic kiosks all over Dubai including the customer halls in government entities and some shopping malls.”
