Dubai: The Government of Dubai will not sack any employee working for any of its departments in light of the global financial crisis, a senior official has said.

Ahmad Al Shaikh, media aide of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Incorporated, told Gulf News that only those employees working for Dubai Government departments would not be sacked.

This does not necessarily apply to employees working for private companies in the emirate, he added.

Al Shaikh said this is a reality, as no government department in Dubai has sacked any of their employees.

“Dubai Government will not sack any staff working for government departments, yet this does not mean that employees can neglect their duties or violate administrative rules,'' he said.

Al Shaikh said this comes as per instructions of Shaikh Mohammad and his keenness to provide the maximum requirements of stability and social security.
