Dubai: Dubai Cares charity organisation has launched a number of initiatives - together with other partner organisations - to help the suffering children of Gaza.
These initiatives are in line with the campaign dubbed: 'United Front against Aggression in Gaza', based on the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Dubai Cares has procured the supplies to create 50,000 school kits and 50,000 hygiene kits as part of its effort to mobilise emergency aid for Gaza.
The charity is appealing to the residents of the UAE to volunteer to help assemble the procured relief supplies into kits for immediate transit to the children of Gaza. Location and timing as well as additional information on this developing initiative will be announced soon on the organisation's website.
In addition, the charity organisation is also inviting the community to personalise messages of solidarity and hope on its 'Dubai Cares Postcards' which will be sold in selected shopping malls across the Emirate.
Dubai Cares will display the messages for the duration of the initiative following which the postcards will be sent to Gaza to be displayed in schools in a show of UAE's support with the children of Gaza.
In an effort to spread the message of hope, the organisation, in co-ordination with the Ministry of Education, invites all schools across the UAE to create a "collage of hope" expressing messages of solidarity with the children of Gaza in their time of struggle. These collages will be sent to Gaza to be hung in schools. Detailed information on guidelines, deadlines and drop off locations can be obtained online.
