Dubai: The Dubai Executive Council yesterday discussed a policy aimed at protecting children by developing an integrated system of criteria and services and specifying the role of child protection bodies.

The policy aims to further protect children against all forms of abuse, negligence, and exploitation.

This came during the council's meeting chaired by Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and First Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, held at Emirates Towers.

The council approved the school fees control framework, which aims to streamline procedures related to fees levied on students enrolled in private schools.

The framework is in line with the leadership's directives to base Dubai's education environment on a specified framework that serves the public, and creates a balance on the importance of education and investment environment in the education sector.

Shaikh Maktoum urged council members to focus on the council's set priorities, which include education, health care, and providing an attractive investment environment.

Shaikh Maktoum said that these aspects are an important foundation of achieving Dubai's vision.

Shaikh Maktoum was also briefed on developments relating to the Dubai Model Centre, which was previously approved by the council. The centre aims to raise the standard of Dubai governmental services.
