Cabinet ready with action plan
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday chaired a meeting of the Cabinet, held in an informal setting in the Eastern Region.

- Shaikh Mohammad and other ministers with citizens and expatriates attending Friday prayers at a mosque in Dhida. During the prayers, the Imam emphasised in his sermon the need for solidarity among members of society and called for propagation of benevolence as the mainstay of the true Islamic society.
Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday chaired a meeting of the Cabinet, held in an informal setting in the Eastern Region.
The meeting was also attended by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister. Shaikh Mohammad opened the meeting with a note of thanks to the ministers for their efforts to develop components of the government strategy ahead of the deadline set by him.
He urged the ministers to ensure swift implementation of the strategy after its approval by the cabinet.
"What really matters now is that the ministers should oversee implementation of the strategy in a way that will contribute in enhancing government sector performance and ensuring proper coordination between all government departments according to international best practices," he said.
In the morning and afternoon sessions, Shaikh Mohammad listened to presentations by the ministries of interior, justice, cabinet affairs, public works, environment, and energy. The ministers set out their respective plans for translating the federal government strategy into action.

his entourage were at a mosque. The Vice-President attended the lunch at Al Naqbi's house, accompanied by Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior; Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed, Minister of Presidential Affairs; Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed, Foreign Minister. Shaikh Mohammed, who enjoyed the meal, thanked Al Naqbi and ordered houses to be allocated at his personal expense to the married sons of Al Naqbi.
