Abu Dhabi: The UAE Cabinet has approved the setting up of the Arabic Language Consultation Council to support efforts for implementation of principles and recommendations charter launched recently by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The decision was made by a cabinet meeting chaired by Shaikh Mohammad in the presence of Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

Shaikh Mohammad said the UAE represents a development experience which we are proud to project to the world at large. He also pointed out that it is a unique story that has to be told in a creative manner to be understood and for the country’s people to be proud of.

Shaikh Mohammad also said that the UAE is a model of optimum balance between openness and tolerance while being proud of the national identity and culture: a balance between creativity and innovation with the keenness on the sustainability of achievements; and a balance between the UAE’s influence globally despite its novel experience.

Shaikh Mohammad instructed the UAE special logo designs for e-voting to be posted on the prime minister’s website within a week.

This logo is a unified UAE promotion symbol that will be used domestically and abroad to project the country’s identity.

This logo will be used according to a strategic plan that will coordinate between government and non-government departments to summarize and come across with the country’s message and story.

The cabinet also approved the setting up of the Arabic Language Consultation Council under the chairmanship of the Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development an affiliate of the cabinet.

The cabinet also endorsed a total budget of Dh1.4 billion for the fiscal year 2012, of the Shaikh Zayed Housing programme.

The budget has been approved to set up housing projects for UAE nationals and to extend financial aid to those who wish to build homes.

Until the end of 2011, 26,000 housing aid was offered to UAE nationals and 13,000 houses were given to citizens, while 9,000 houses are in the implementation phase.

The cabinet also approved the Emirates Transport budget for the fiscal year of 2012 where the expected operational income is Dh1.3 billion and the budget profit to reach 30 per cent of the capital, while profit distribution is 24 per cent of the capital.

The cabinet approved the setting up of a higher committee to host the international exhibition for communication. It also approved the re-structuring of the supreme committee to enhance community solidarity.
