Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will on Monday attend the award ceremony of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme.
Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGEP) represents an integrated initiative to develop performance and improve services and practices in the government sector.
The programme includes 19 categories, each having specific and integrated assessment criteria and issues defining the requirements of excellence and distinction in all the fields of government work, at both the institutional and the individual level.
Shaikh Mohammad ordered the establishment of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme to develop the Government sector and improve its performance.
This is done through moral incentives, motivational working environment, constructive cooperation and positive competition with a vision to attain international levels of excellence in government performance.
Mission
Its mission is to seek to achieve a quantum leap in the performance and results of Dubai government departments. The aim is to attain international levels through the provision of a guiding excellence model and a set of sustainable improvement initiatives and development practices.
The Dubai Government Excellence Programme seeks to achieve high performance levels in government departments and bodies by allowing them to conduct self assessment activities.
The programme supports development programmes within government departments and bodies, improved productivity and efficiency.
It ensures commitment to excellence in service and promotes creativity and quality for the best administrative and professional practices.
The Employee Excellence Categories include:
Distinguished Government Employee, Distinguished Administrative Employee, Distinguished Financial Employee, Distinguished Technical/Engineering Employee, Distinguished Specialized Employee, Distinguished Field Employee, Distinguished Employee in Supervisory Jobs, Distinguished Female Employee and Distinguished New Employees.
