Abu Dhabi: The UAE armed forces celebrated the 40th National Day with dedication and commitment to safeguarding the federation and helping the nation strengthen its position in the international and regional arenas.
The UAE has made milestone achievements in all walks of life, the most important of which is the unification of the armed forces under the historical decision by the UAE's founding father Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The unwavering efforts of the founding fathers to create this federation, unite the armed forces and equip them with state-of-the-art technology and training, was one of the country's landmark achievements.
March to progress
This is because unification unleashed a comprehensive process to bring in state-of-the-art weaponry and acquire the most modern military field skills, to maintain the national gains and push ahead with the nation's march towards progress and prosperity under a common defence policy and the command of a united and strong national army.
The UAE's armed forces have succeeded in adopting modern defence systems and technologies in a relatively short period of time, thanks to their diligence and determination to keep up-to-date with developments.
The armed forces have participated in several military exercises and taken part in peacekeeping efforts in countries affected by wars, and are keen to acquire the latest defence and weaponry technology.
