Abu Dhabi: Sultan Ahmad Al Jaber, Minister of State, who is in Washington, D.C., held a number of meetings with US officials to discuss bilateral relations between the UAE and the US in various areas of mutual concern, including international ties, regional stability and in the fields of energy, economy and trade.

Yousuf Al Otaiba, Ambassador of the UAE to the US, participated in the discussions aimed at enhancing the existing strategic partnership between the two countries and expanding it to include new fields for the benefit of the two sides.

Al Jaber said that UAE-US relations are strong and based on a clear vision, mutual respect, joint interests and continuous communication and coordination, adding that the UAE is looking forward to enhancing ties, especially on issues of joint concern, including energy and trade, as well as ways to enhance the welfare of the region.

The UAE Minister of State also held meetings with members of the Congress and Secretaries of State of Energy and Foreign Affairs, in addition to a number of decision and policy makers in the US. He also took part in a workshop organised by The Atlantic Council, deemed one of the most important intellectual think tanks that focuses on international relations and security as well as the welfare of the global economy.

He also attended two discussion sessions with a number of US politicians, economic figures, decision-makers and thinkers.
