Al Awani takes over as ambassador to Pakistan

Ali Saif Sultan Al Awani, UAE's ambassador to Pakistan, yesterday presented his credentials to Pakistani President Asif Ali Zaradari.

Islamabad: Ali Saif Sultan Al Awani, UAE's ambassador to Pakistan, yesterday presented his credentials to Pakistani President Asif Ali Zaradari.

The UAE envoy conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the Pakistani president.

Zardari commended the level of relations between the UAE and Pakistan and called for increased cooperation between them.

On his part, Al Awani reiterated he would further push for more cooperation in the best interests of the two countries.

Non-resident

UAE ambassador to Tanzania Malawi Mallallah Mubarak Suwaid Al Ameri, who has been appointed UAE's non-resident ambassador, presented his credentials to Malawian President Bingu Wa Mutharika, at the Malawian presidential palace.

Al Ameri conveyed the regards of Shaikh Khalifa to the Malawian president, who in return conveyed his regards to Shaikh Khalifa through the UAE envoy.

The Malawian president lauded the diplomatic relations with the UAE.
