Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Solar cars race was concluded on Sunday afternoon at the Shams 1 station in Madinat Zayed, Western Region of Abu Dhabi.
The solar cars race highlights the power of innovation, which is hosted by Masdar in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) with the participation of 20 solar-powered cars from various European countries and Japan, in addition to cars from the UAE designed by Adnoc Petroleum Institute
A number of the Petroleum Institute students joined in the race and competed to cover a distance of 1200 kilometres on three stages in Abu Dhabi.
The racing event was organised as part of the Abu Dhabi a week of sustainability, which is the first global event within the innovation year initiative launched by the UAE in order to spread innovation practices as a strategic option that supports the development process as well as to contribute in stimulating the development technology efforts.
The award ceremony will take place with the opening of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
